The itinerary for November 11, 2001 between Camden, NJ and New York, NY.

The caravan left Harley Davidson of Camden at 8:00 AM and began the ride into New York city.  We were joined at the exit from the New Jersey Turnpike by the Jersey City Police Department who escorted the teddy bears to a few fire stations before turning the caravan over to the Port Authority Police who escorted the bears through the Holland Tunnel into NYC.

Special thanks to the NYPD - Highway Patrol 2nd Division who provided the escort to the truck and cycle riders as they entered the city.  The caravan worked it's way uptown for a stop in front of the Hard Rock Cafe between Noon and 2:00 PM.  We met with the media and members of the community who donated teddy bears, contributed to the costs of this trip, signed the truck or trailer, and/ or made donations to the scholarship fund that has been established for the children.  A special thanks to Commissioner Bernard Kerick's office and Sgt. Pellarin for arranging and coordinating the escort through the city.

A special thanks to Michelle and John at Hogs and Heifers Saloon and to all of the riders who participated in today's ride.  We thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ and time with your patrons this afternoon.  What a great time.

The teddy bears were then escorted by NYPD to a number of fire houses in the city.  Due to the presences of the President of the United States and a fire in uptown Manhattan, we were not able to get to all of the fire stations.  However, at those stations we were able to stop at, we paused to distribute bears, have the fire fighters view and sign the truck, and listened to the fire fighters share their experiences from that terrible day.  God Bless you guys.  A special thanks to Patrick Cleary for helping to arrange our visit and for assisting us in selecting the stations to be visited today

Thanks go to Jenny (at San Diego Harley Davidson) for your coordinating of the "hands-on" aspects of registering the participants as they arrived at Roger's on Fifth for "Meatloaf Madness" tonight as the rest of us were here in New York City.  Roger Hedgecock (of the Roger Hedgecock Show),  New York Myke (owner of San Diego Harley Davidson), Michelle (owner of Hogs and Heifers), and many others gathered tonight in San Diego to raise money for the American Freedom Fund Educational Fund.
